Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 13 ~ 06 April 2013

Hi everyone!

Time for the Nail Polish Lottery Club.

This week’s number is 281. As I don’t have 281 unused nail polishes, I used number 2+8+1=11 on my list.

Number 11 turned out to be Revlon Brilliant Strength in 010 Dazzle. When I saw that, I couldn’t have been more thrilled, as I bought the nail polish last week. However, the result disappoints.

Revlon Brilliant Strength in Dazzle is very sheer. After 3 coats, you can still see the nail line, so not very pretty on my short nails.

See in this week’s video:

And this week, I’ll show you only one photo of my not so perfect nails:

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 12 ~ 31 March 2013

Hi everyone!

First of all Happy Easter to those of you celebrating! I hope you are having a wonderful time with your families.

Now, it is time for the Nail Polish Lottery Club. This week’s NPL club number was 97. As I don’t have 97 polishes, I could have used 9+7=16. But this week I’m cheating a bit and using 1+6=7, which what do you know? Number 7 on my list is this new Revlon Moon Candy I just bought.

Revlon Moon Candy was released in the UK just this week. As I always see them on Youtube, I had no idea that we don’t have the Moon Candies here in the UK.

Today, I’m wearing Revlon Moon Candy in Galactic.

The base, as usual is OPI Nail Envy. I followed with two coats of the dark color, 1 top coat, and 1 coat of the glittery stuff. Whatever you do, do not apply as me! Ideally you should use: 1 coat base, 1 coat dark color, 1 coat glittery stuff and you will have beautiful manicure, trust me.

But enough with the chit chat, here’s this weeks video:

And enjoy the photos:

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 11 ~ 22 March 2013

Hi everyone!

I am back online, finally the broadband is installed! Not only that, but it is fibre optic broadband, which should make my life easier when it comes to uploading videos.

This week’s NPL club number was 41. The current number of polishes on my list is 26, so I used 4+1=5.

Number 5 on my list is Revlon Ruby, but I could swear I did wear this before. Or, at least, I did wear the color next to it on the list: Revlon Vixen. As I couldn’t really remember, I decided to wear them both, and use Judi’s signature half and half manicure.

So here it is, my week 11 NPL Club video, hope you enjoy it:

As you can see, the two nail polishes look very similar in the bottle, but are very different on the nail. As they are both Revlon, the quality was really good, and they were easy to apply.

All in all, I give 5 out 5 to both colors.

While I was offline, we had lots of new members joining in, so a warm welcome to all of them! From next week, I will resume the weekly shout outs to introduce each member.
Thank you again to everyone who has joined or liked our Facebook page. Your support, involvement and enthusiasm is a lot more than what Judi and I would have ever expected.

And to Judi: you are amazing and thanks for all the help these weeks! You kept the club running smoothly and did a fantastic job!

As usual, let me know how your week went, and what nail polish you’re wearing!

Nail Polish Lottery Club – Week 10

Hi everyone!

Long time no see! I missed all my NPL Club friends.

As you know, I moved flats last week. All is good, and I am happy with the move. But I do not have internet yet, it will be installed only next Friday.

Still, I am not giving up on the club, and I am posting my result for week 10.

This week surprise! Another green: Sally Hansen Color Quick in Green Chrome. It is the first time I am trying this kind of nail polish pen. To use the “pen” you shake it really well and click to dispense the polish. The trick is not to dispense too little, or too much.
I found it pretty easy to use.

My only mini complaint is that the brush is a little too big. Also, after you finish, you have to clean the brush, so the nail polish left doesn’t dry.

The nail polish dries quick to a metallic finish. I’d recommend not to use top coat. When I added the SH top coat I usually use, it ruined the metallic finish a little.

All in all I like this nail polish and will be using it again.

What have you been up to? Can’t wait to catch up with the club next week!

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 7 ~24 February 2013

Hi everyone!

Another week, another Nail Polish Lottery Club post, another Ruby nail polish to show!

This week’s NPL club number was 82. I only have 30 nail polishes on my list, so instead I used 8+2=10. On my list, number 10 was another Ruby nail polish. Let me tell you a secret: I may have worn this before, but I don’t remember. The color is a very nice mint green, exactly the kind I like:

The Youtube video for this week is a bit of a rambling mess, but still, I hope you enjoy it!

A huge thank you to my good, really sweet friend Judi, from Middle Aged Beauty Queen. She was very sweet and helped me take advantage of the Zoya 3 free nail polishes offer, and she sent me some extra goodies too.

Finally, this week’s member shout out goes to Laurie Ann. She has both a great blog and Youtube channel. I didn’t know her before the club, but I’m glad I do know her now. She does great videos, and is very knowledgeable about make up. She’s definitely one to watch!

Lately, I really enjoyed watching her 2012 favorites, including this favorite lip products video:

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 6 ~17 February 2013

Hi everyone!

How did your week go? Did you have a nice Valentine’s day?

This week’s NPL club number was 41. As I don’t have 41 polishes on my list (yet!) I used 4+1=5 on my list. It is a mini OPI nail polish from the Minnie collection. Judi sent this one to me, so thank you Judi!

This color is not exactly my kind of pink – maybe it is too Barbie pink? I’m not sure what it is about it. If it is your kind of color, go and grab it, it is a good quality polish.

Here is the photo proof:

On this week’s Youtube video I show the nail polish but I also do a mini (or not so mini) rant about London renting:

And finally, I have to do this week’s shout out. It goes to Jessica from http://www.youtube.com/user/tearfallzbreak/. I discovered her channel not long before starting the club. She has an amazing personality and does great videos. You definitely have to go watch her and subscribe!

She does lots of kinds of videos including reviews, face of the day, project 10 pan and her original series “I’m a beauty hoarder”. Jessica confessed that she hoards on beauty projects but now the hoarding must stop. Here’s her latest episode:

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ Week 5 ~10 February 2013

Hi everyone!

It’s Sunday again! That means time for another Nail Polish Lottery club post.

This week’s NPL club number was 6. Finally! A single digit number, so I don’t have to add anything up. Number 6 on my list was OPI – Your palapa or mine.

I had this polish for a while, and for some reason couldn’t bring myself to wear it. I bought it for two reasons: the name is funny and it is green.

Your palapa or mine is a beautiful spring green, not too much in your face green, even suitable for the office. Better let the images do the talking:

This week’s shout out goes to the second person to join our club.

It was Lindsay from Turning the Pages. She has both a Youtube channel and a blog with that name. Both her blog and channel are worth checking out: she does lots of reviews, tags, tutorials, and even giveaways.

You must see her nail polish collection, it is amazing:

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ 3 February 2013

Hi everyone!

It’s time for week 4 of the Nail Polish Lottery Club.

This week’s NPL club number was 48. I don’t own 48 unused nail polishes so I used number 4+8=12 on my list. It is a Ruby nail polish again.

This time it is a lilac purple that I really love. The consistency was a little thin, but with two coats I got full coverage.  In these photos I’m wearing 1 coat Nail Envy, 2 coats Ruby nail polish, and Sally Hansen top coat.

The club is growing and we have lots of new members joining us. Judi and I decided it would be fun if we introduce one member every week, so that everyone knows about the others participating.

This week we are giving a shout out to Pegi from SuperLadySheba on Youtube. She was the first person to contact me about the club. At that point we didn’t even have a name decided yet!

I love Peg’s videos: she covers thrift hauls, reviews and lots of perfume reviews. She is quite a perfume expert! Also she keeps her videos pretty short, between 5 and 10 minutes, something that I really like. I’m linking below her NPL club video from last week, she wore the most amazing Illamasqua nail polish. Enjoy!

Let me know how your week was, did you try any fun nail polishes this week?

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ 27 January 2013

Hi everyone!

It’s week three of the Nail Polish Lottery club. Can you believe how quick time has passed? Week 3 already!

This week’s NPL club number was 79. I don’t own 79 unused nail polishes so I used number 7+9=16 on my list. It’s a Ruby nail polish that does not have a name.
It came as part of a beautiful make up set from good friend, it was very sweet of her! I “ruined” my manicure a little this week, so there will be no close up pictures, just the video:

Thank you to everyone who is involved in the Nail Polish Lottery club in any way! Both me and Judi are overwhelmed by the positive feedback we got from all of you! Thank you and can’t wait to see your results every week!

Nail Polish Lottery Club ~ 20 January 2013

How was your week everyone? Mine was busy, but no complaints here!

On the NPL club front, this week’s lucky number was 187. As I don’t have 187 nail polishes I used 1+8+7=16. Number 16 on my list was a green mini Venique nail polish. I don’t know the color name, as the mini bottle doesn’t have it.LE: The color name is Ga-loshes Glow and you can see more photos on Judi’s blog.

Yes, I’m lucky again this week and again I get to wear green!

I’m wearing a base coat (Nail Envy) and three coats of the Venique. This Venique was a bit streaky to apply, but with 3 coats it turned out fine.

Are you wondering what’s the La Boheme programme doing in my nail polish post? There is a reason for everything!
This Friday afternoon (18th of Jan) me and a friend decided not to go home after work. Instead, we went to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and asked them if they have any last chance tickets. And what do you know, they did have a few, varying in price. We chose the cheapest of course! Still we had good seats, at the very back but with good stage view. The music was wonderful and we got to see these amazing performers:

Visit the Royal Opera House’s website here for details on their history and the shows this season. I try to visit them twice or three times every year, and I also make sure not to miss the Royal Ballet School end of year show.

Update: I found the Royal Opera House has an Youtube channel, here is what they have to say about La Boheme:
