Lancome Teint Visionnaire – application & review

Hi everyone!

Lancome just released their latest foundation: Teint Visionnaire – Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo: Dark Spots – Pores – Wrinkles.

It has quite a name that comes with a lot of claims:
High Coverage Corrector
Flawless Perfecting Foundation
An even and flawless looking complexion
Benefits: Skin Perfection, Even Skin Tone, Flawless Coverage

For full details check out their website page here.

In December last year, Lancome invited their Facebook fans to participate in their VIP panel and to test their new not released yet foundation. I enrolled straightway, and a few weeks after I was contacted by Lancome who confirmed I will participate in the test. The foundation arrived beginning of January and I have used it exclusively for one month. In all communication Lancome have been very friendly and nice, and I have to say a big thak you for including me!

They of course used all the results in their marketing materials such as this one:

Lancome Teint Visionnaire - from the Lancome FB page

Lancome Teint Visionnaire – from the Lancome FB page

And yes, I did say I would recommend it to a friend – but I would only recommend it to certain friends, depending on their skin type.

You can watch me apply and review the foundation in this Youtube video:

The things I liked about the foundation were: it is good coverage and long-lasting. I really like that is has the concealer included, so you don’t have to worry about matching the concealer shade and the foundation shade. Also the mirror was very handy.

The negatives for me where: the foundation finish – too shiny, and it contains alcohol. I do not believe the skin care claims.

Overall this foundation was not suitable for my skin type and requirements. If you are looking for: good coverage, long-lasting, emollient, luminous finish foundation – this might be a winner! I think it is a foundation suitable for dry skin, and probably should be targeted at more mature skin as well.

My 2012 Top 10 Best Buys

Happy New Year 2013!

I didn’t post on the blog for a while, but I keep posting videos on Youtube so make sure you are subscribed to my channel!

These are my 2012 best buys. The ranking is very subjective and personal. Out of everything I bought in 2012 I think these are the best. The ranking is based on the quality of the product and how much I actually used the product.

10 – Lancome L’Absolu Nu lipstick number 102 this lipstick was my first red lipstick. It’s a sheer texture very easy to wear and to build intensity, if you want to. For a first red lipstick, I couldn’t have chosen any better.

9 – MAC Expensive Pink eyeshadow this eyeshadow is a beautiful every day color. It is more than a neutral, but very work friendly.

8 – MAC Extra Dimension Modern Pewter I love everything about this eyeshadow. The color, the formula, the packaging, and again it is a very work friendly everyday color.

7 – L’Oreal Infailible eyeshadows in Magnetic Coral Naughty Strawberry everyone knows these are dupes for Aramani Eyes to Kill. I don’t own the Armani version, but I don’t need to. The formula is beautiful, long lasting, and these two colors were all I wore last summer.

6 – Guerlain Pucci collection brush need I say more than Guerlain Pucci collection? The brush comes in a beautiful Pucci bag that is worth all the money. It’s not the best bronzing brush in the world, but beautiful anyway!

5 – Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm in 001 Honey this quickly became one of my favorite lip products. I carry it in my handbag and reapply without even looking in the mirror. Who needs more?

4 – L’Oreal Caresse lipsticks I think these are the best lipsticks that came out in 2012. They are moisturizing, sheer but buildable, just ideal for spring – summer. The color selection is beautiful as well.

3 – Guerlain Terracota 4 Seasons bronzer in 01 Blondes this is my “holy grail” bronzer. I don’t need to try any other bronzer again.

2 – Shu Uemura UV underbase never leave the house without SPF on! This mousse formula is very easy to apply, non sticky and has SPF 30.

1 – Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h foundation so far, this is the best foundation I ever owned. It’s long lasting, beautiful finish, medium coverage. The only downside is that it has a bit of fragrance and alcohol so be careful if your skin is sensitive. My skin didn’t react, although it is very sensitive.

This is it! My top 10 best buys of 2012? What are yours?

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H

I bought the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation a few months ago, and it has been my go to foundation most of this time.

My skin:
My skin is normal, but with lots of acne scaring and skin redness, especially on the cheeks. I also have large pores in that area.

Price and where is it sold:
It retails for 26£, at any Lancome counter. They have 18 shades available: light to dark, both yellow and pink undertones.

Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra 24H offers more long-wear and comfort than any other foundation.

Teint Idole Ultra 24H remains retouch-free, providing a flawless looking, even complexion with a velvety-smooth, shine-free finish.

In perfect affinity with the skin, Teint Idole Ultra 24h is irresistibly comfortable. Its new, blendable and fresh texture is divine and leaves the complexion feeling smooth, velvety and matte with no powdery effect.

The outer packaging is the standard Lancome “mirror” package. The foundation is in a bottle with pump dispenser. The transparent bottle looks like glass, I assume it is made of plastic.
You get 30 ml of product.

Texture and application:
Liquid foundation. It is light, easy to blend, not runny.
I found that it can oxidize a little on me, but it doesn’t look orange. If anything it gives some color to my really light skin!

Coverage and wear:
The coverage is medium. It cannot be built to high coverage. If you have problem areas, I suggest adding up more foundation only to that area, or targeting the area with a concealer.
The claim is that this foundation is matte, but on my skin I get a natural finish.
For me, the foundation wears all day. I usually have the foundation on for 10 to 12 hours before I take my make up off. In this time it doesn’t move, my skin redness doesn’t start to show through, it looks the same as in the morning when I applied it.

What I like:
The coverage it gives, the light texture, the long wear, the natural finish.

What I don’t like:
It contains alcohol, an ingredient known to irritate the skin. Luckily this does not happen to me. It also has a pretty heavy fragrance.
If you have sensitive skin and/or oily skin and/or acne I recommend you choose another foundation.

Light Packing

I’m going away for the amazingly long time of 3 days!

So for 3 days I should be packing light, right? Well… I tried!

Make up:
The bag is from the Laura Mercier Day to Night collection, very good for traveling. But the Naked palette does not fit it.

  • NYX 5 Color Shadow – The Caribbean Collection I dream
  • Laura Mercier Day to Night Palette: I’m not a big fan of the shadows but I like the blusher.
  • NARS Orgasm blush
  • Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H: I became a big fan of this foundation. I alternate using it, but on the days I’m not using it I feel very weird.
  • Clinique Airbrush concealer
  • Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25: I absolutely need to use sun protection, it is also good as a make up base.

The brushes:

  • Shu Uemura Foundation brush
  • Laura Mercier check brush
  • Laura Mercier double ended eye brush
  • MAC 217
  • Urban Decay Shadow brush

Small “cheating” make up bag to go in by bag

  • Clinique deep comfort hand cream
  • Clinique chubby stick
  • Nivea pearly shine lip balm
  • Clinique Vitamin C lip smoothie
  • Lancome lipstick
  • Dior Diorissimo sample
  • Small mirror

And last but not least the cosmetic bag!
Don’t ask me what it is in there! Yes, everything is absolutely essential to take with me.
I hope you agree with me!

Shopping: Lancome

There’s nothing better than some retail therapy after a hard long week at work!

Lancome has a pretty good offer at the moment. (Available at Boots and Fenwick from what I could see).
If you buy two products they give you £60 value free gift set. If you buy three products you also get two full-sized products.
I only got two products, that’s enough for now!

The first item I got is the new Teint Idole Ultra 24h foundation in 02 Lys Rose. The promise is that it’s very long wearing and needs no touch up.
I’ll have to wear it for a few days to test it out, but so far I like how it looks on my face.

The second item is the L’Absolu Nu lipstick in colour 102. It’s a nice formula, glides on really easy and seems to be pretty long wearing. It’s a bit sheer, but that’s what I wanted as it’s an ideal red for the office.

The gifts I got with my purchase are:

  • Hydra Zen Nueurocalm cream and Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm cream, both 15 ml
  • Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, 5 ml
  • Hypnose mascara volume, 2 ml
  • Visionnaire Skin Corrector (wrinkle,s pores, evenness), 7 ml
  • Juicy tubes ultra shiny hydrating lip gloss, 7 ml
  • Galateis Douceur gentle cleansing fluid face & eyes, 50 ml
  • Trésor Midnight Rose eau de parfum, 5ml

As you can see, pretty good products to try out!

And now have a peek in my shopping bag:
