Chanel event and meeting Lisa Eldridge

Hi everyone!

I still can’t believe it, but today I got to meet the amazing Lisa Eldridge.

Chanel had a special event today, for launching their Les Beiges collection. They advertised the event in one of the free magazines I pick up on the tube. Of course, that the moment I saw the ad, I called them to book an appointment. To see how it all went watch my video about today:

Overall, I have to say it was amazing, and that Lisa is just as nice and sweet as you see her on Youtube. As soon as she walks into the room, you can tell she knows what she is doing, and she has great advice to give! I feel very lucky to have met her, and only wish I could be less shy sometimes.

Finally, here are a few photos of the day, around Covent Garden:

Happy Women’s Day

Today is International Woman’s Day, a holiday celebrated everywhere in the world, including Romania.
It’s a shame it is not recognized too much in the UK.

It is a great occasion to celebrate women, and receive nice flowers too!

All about Lips week

With Valentine’s Day approaching everyone is looking for that perfect lip look.

So I thought this week I will dedicate my blog to lip products.

Stay tuned for 7 days of my current favorite lipsticks and lip glosses.

More color please!

I have to admit, almost every morning I reach for the Naked palette. But what is wrong with color? Why is everyone so crazy about the “no make up – make up” or the “nude” look.
Ok, “no make up – make up” is a good thing, you hide the imperfections and look natural. But why is the “nude look” so popular? Why so many nude lipstick shades and neutral shadows? How many of these can we buy? How many palettes will be launched with almost the same color in them?

Even for office work, more color than that can be worn for sure.
All last summer I was wearing the brightest colors, after which the devil a.k.a the Naked palette got in my life. Now I use mostly neutral shades, except when going out. It’s easy and convenient but…

I’m glad that the spring collections bring back the color into our lives.

From now on I’m going to be using more of these:

As you can see, many of them ar slightly touched, really need to be using them more!

Items in the photos:

  1. NYX 5 color shadow – The Caribbean Collection – I dream of Barbados.
  2. Sleek blush in Pixie Pink. Sleek can be found at Superdug
  3. NYX eye liner in Azure. The full name is “Slide on, glide on, stay on & definitely a turn on waterproof extreme shine eye liner. (The liner is so good, the name had to be this long!)” – How cute is that?)
  4. NARS pure matte lipstick in Carthage.
  5. Shu Uemura lipstick in PK 369.
  6. MAC shadows: Shimmer moss, aquadisiac, electric eel, moon’s reflection, juxt, lucky green.

These are products I own, some of them for a while. They might not be available to buy anymore, I did not check the websites.

Quick updates

First one is about the Dior garden party collection.
I saw the palettes in Selfridges this weekend. The colors I like in the photos are very sheer. It looks like there’s no point in spending all that money. What a shame, because I genuinely like the look.
On top of that, Temptalia published a review today for one of the 5 color palettes: Dior Garden Pastels Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches.
In store, the 5 shadow palette seemed of a little bit better quality than the smoky eye one. So if the better one receives B+ on Temptalia, I would rather spend on something else.

Second quick update is that today I reached the 1 stone mark in my weight loss journey! It has taken me 3 months an a half. I’m very proud of myself for sticking with this!
That also means that I will treat myself to something nice this weekend. Any recommendations of a nice lipstick? I’m thinking something to use in the office, but still have something special.

2012: My plan

It’s mid January now, but definitely not too late to plan the year ahead!

I do not have a list of 2012 resolutions but I do have a few things I’m planning to do. Here are the beauty related ones:

Buy less, use more.
2011 was the year that I learned a lot about make up, and they year when I bought a lot of products, of course! My collection is not complete yet, however, I plan to use what I already have. It feels nice to actually hit pan on a product! It makes me feel like it was a good purchase.

Drink enough water.
Drinking enough water solves a lot of health and beauty issues, so I don’t know why I don’t do this already!

Continue losing 1 lb per week until I reach my goal weight.
So far, the last 3 months of 2011 I have lost 12.5 lbs. I’m on the right track with this one already.

I know everyone says this, but I’m planning to use my gym membership.
My membership contract expires in August 2012. Until then, I should be using going to the gym at least once a week

Currently obssessing

I’m currently 100% obsessed with the Dior garden party collection, especially the Garden Party 3 Couleurs smoky eyes palette in green. Green is my color and they should have named it Diana!

It’s exclusive at Selfridges and hopefully very soon it will be mine.

I could find some reviews for the 5 color palettes but not for this one. Have you tried it?

Cute packaging

Yey, first real article on my blog!

To start, I was thinking I’d share with you the cutest make up I own. Both items were gifts from my boyfriend. I don’t actually use the make up inside but I keep them for their looks.

The cute crab has a duo of mini bronzer and mini highlighter (or maybe just two eye shadows?). I’m ashamed to admit that I never tried using it and now it’s expired.

The owl one has several eye shadows (cream and powder) plus blush colors. It’s more user friendly and I used it a couple of times. Most, I think I’m happy with the blush inside it.

Don’t ask me where he got them from, he has his own mysterious sources!

Do you like them?

Hello there!

Hi make up obsessed people like me!  I know I’m not alone!

My name is Diana and I’m a make up addict. I like to read about it, watch Youtube videos for hours, and most importantly shop make up.

My little obsession started about an year ago and since then I have learned a lot. I’m going to write about the products I have, the ones that I’m buying and the ones that I am dreaming to get my hands on!

I also want to share my learning experience with you. So far I have learned a lot, but there is always place for improvement.

On the beauty side, currently, my beauty routine is pretty much set so I’m not going to talk too much about lotions and potions, but I will reveal my favorites.

Hopefully this will be a place where you will be sharing your experiences too, so here goes, I hope there is someone interested!
