Lancome Teint Visionnaire – application & review

Hi everyone!

Lancome just released their latest foundation: Teint Visionnaire – Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo: Dark Spots – Pores – Wrinkles.

It has quite a name that comes with a lot of claims:
High Coverage Corrector
Flawless Perfecting Foundation
An even and flawless looking complexion
Benefits: Skin Perfection, Even Skin Tone, Flawless Coverage

For full details check out their website page here.

In December last year, Lancome invited their Facebook fans to participate in their VIP panel and to test their new not released yet foundation. I enrolled straightway, and a few weeks after I was contacted by Lancome who confirmed I will participate in the test. The foundation arrived beginning of January and I have used it exclusively for one month. In all communication Lancome have been very friendly and nice, and I have to say a big thak you for including me!

They of course used all the results in their marketing materials such as this one:

Lancome Teint Visionnaire - from the Lancome FB page

Lancome Teint Visionnaire – from the Lancome FB page

And yes, I did say I would recommend it to a friend – but I would only recommend it to certain friends, depending on their skin type.

You can watch me apply and review the foundation in this Youtube video:

The things I liked about the foundation were: it is good coverage and long-lasting. I really like that is has the concealer included, so you don’t have to worry about matching the concealer shade and the foundation shade. Also the mirror was very handy.

The negatives for me where: the foundation finish – too shiny, and it contains alcohol. I do not believe the skin care claims.

Overall this foundation was not suitable for my skin type and requirements. If you are looking for: good coverage, long-lasting, emollient, luminous finish foundation – this might be a winner! I think it is a foundation suitable for dry skin, and probably should be targeted at more mature skin as well.

Just Empties #1 – Clinique, Aqua di Parma

I love watching Youtube empties videos. Don’t you? It is one of my favorite things to do, as it tells me a lot about what others are using.

But unlike other Youtubers I hate hanging on to empty packaging, and most importantly I don’t have that much space available to store it.

What to do? Here is where blogging beats vlogging. I am going to just post in here any make up empties, as soon as I’m done with them. Clean house, clean make up area, problem solved!

So here we go, I have two empties for you today.

Product name and pricing:
Clinique Even Better Make up SPF 15 foundation.
£23 for 30ml on the Clinique website
Finished in:
January 2013
Had it for…
1 year and half! I thought I’ll never finish this tube!
The claims are…
Anti-aging, Covers or treats uneven skin tone, Mineral enriched, Long wearing
What did I think of it?
A great liquid foundation, with medium buildable coverage. Long lasting, around 8 hours on normal combination skin. A great color match for my skin tone.
Will I repurchase?
No because there are too many other foundations to try out. I must have them all!

Clinque Even Better Make Up SPF 15

Clinque Even Better Make Up SPF 15

Product name and pricing:
Aqua di Parma Blu Mediteraneo – Mirto di Panarea edt
£74 for 150 ml on Space NK
Finished in:
January 2013
Had it for…
1 month. It came with my Space NK Boxing Day sale items. Surprisingly, I actually used it and it’s not gathering dust.
The claims are…
Panarea, the smallest and oldest of the Aeolian Islands, seems suspended in time. It’s evoked by a fragrance with a regenerating top, characterised by the aromatic notes of myrtle and basil together with lemon and bergamot. At the heart, a sea breeze accord melts with jasmine and rose. An intense base with lentiscus and juniper, combined with cedar wood and amber.
What did I think of it?
I really liked it and was surprised that I did.
Will I repurchase?
I would, but I need to finish lots of other perfumes first.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H

I bought the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation a few months ago, and it has been my go to foundation most of this time.

My skin:
My skin is normal, but with lots of acne scaring and skin redness, especially on the cheeks. I also have large pores in that area.

Price and where is it sold:
It retails for 26£, at any Lancome counter. They have 18 shades available: light to dark, both yellow and pink undertones.

Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra 24H offers more long-wear and comfort than any other foundation.

Teint Idole Ultra 24H remains retouch-free, providing a flawless looking, even complexion with a velvety-smooth, shine-free finish.

In perfect affinity with the skin, Teint Idole Ultra 24h is irresistibly comfortable. Its new, blendable and fresh texture is divine and leaves the complexion feeling smooth, velvety and matte with no powdery effect.

The outer packaging is the standard Lancome “mirror” package. The foundation is in a bottle with pump dispenser. The transparent bottle looks like glass, I assume it is made of plastic.
You get 30 ml of product.

Texture and application:
Liquid foundation. It is light, easy to blend, not runny.
I found that it can oxidize a little on me, but it doesn’t look orange. If anything it gives some color to my really light skin!

Coverage and wear:
The coverage is medium. It cannot be built to high coverage. If you have problem areas, I suggest adding up more foundation only to that area, or targeting the area with a concealer.
The claim is that this foundation is matte, but on my skin I get a natural finish.
For me, the foundation wears all day. I usually have the foundation on for 10 to 12 hours before I take my make up off. In this time it doesn’t move, my skin redness doesn’t start to show through, it looks the same as in the morning when I applied it.

What I like:
The coverage it gives, the light texture, the long wear, the natural finish.

What I don’t like:
It contains alcohol, an ingredient known to irritate the skin. Luckily this does not happen to me. It also has a pretty heavy fragrance.
If you have sensitive skin and/or oily skin and/or acne I recommend you choose another foundation.
