My Youtube inspired purchases

I received this tag from Gina (username Citrushearted) – on Youtube.

Youtube has become a huge influence in many people’s purchasing decisions. The same stands for blogs, Twitter, Pinterest etc.
My opinion is that companies still do not use the full potential of these tools. But I’m not a specialist, so I cannot comment too much on this.

When I started being interested in make up, Youtube was the number one place I went. Slowly, I learned more about techniques, types of brushes, products everyone recommends. If you see a products recommended so many times, you will check it out.

Because I had to build up my make up collection, last year, many of the purchases I made were influenced by Youtube. Not all of them, because I did extra research on blogs, and there were occasional impulse buys too.

Now that I’m older and wiser (well not that much older or wiser), most of the time I can judge the quality of a product by myself. That doesn’t mean that what I see on the web doesn’t influence me. Most of the times, I check the things I hear a lot about.

So my philosophy is simple: buy what I need, check the raved about products, test to see if they suit me and buy only if I’m really happy with what I see.

Finally, here are my Youtube inspired purchases:

  • MUA shadows

Internet has such a high influence, but sometimes I think it’s better to judge by yourself. What works for me doesn’t work for others. But I still rely on reviews heavily…
